InterContinental Shanghai Hongqiao NECC is pleased to announce that they are throwing their first ever Oktoberfest this year on September 24-26 and 28-30.
The original Oktoberfest is the world's largest 'Volksfest' – beer festival and travelling funfair – and has been celebrated all over the world for 210 years.
It is held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany and every year sees more than six million people from around the world attending the event.
This year, borders closed makes it harder to travel and experience this festival, so the Intercontinental Shanghai Hongqiao NECC is bringing the party to you!
At the Oktoberfest celebration, expect Bavarian traditional costumes – which will be on offer for guests to wear to truly experience the authentic Bavarian atmosphere – and a handcrafted beer tent.
To provide guests a more exclusive experience, InterContinental Shanghai Hongqiao NECC offers six VIP rooms – called Almhütten – that can each accommodate 24 guests, so you can enjoy the party with your closest friends and family.
Oktoberfest games will be on offer, along with festive decorations, like big beer balloons.
Make sure to check out the authentic Bavarian Oktoberfest Band that has years of experience playing around the country at various Oktoberfest events, with songs and entertainment provided in German, English and Chinese. Get your dancing shoes ready!
Most importantly, InterContinental Shanghai Hongqiao NECC is the only venue in China able to import actual Oktoberfest Beer from Munich, Germany. A sip of the critically acclaimed German Royal premium beer is sure to get you in the Oktoberfest spirit! Other traditional German and Austrian beverages will also be on offer inside the beer tent.
On the food front, Austrian guest chef Alfred Pichler will be preparing a gourmet culinary experience for all, drawing on his experience working at several Oktoberfest events.
Expect an authentic German buffet for all event attendees, with both traditional cold and hot dishes like German sausages, assorted cheeses, cold cuts with German bread and pretzels and German pastries for dessert.
